Ingredients

  • 225g block of halloumi
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons Tatashe
  • Half a lemon (optional)

Method

  1. Cut the halloumi into 8 slices, about 1cm thick, and pat dry with kitchen paper.
  2. Heat a griddle or frying pan over a medium high heat. Brush the halloumi with the oil.
  3. Cook for about 2 minutes on each side, until golden with dark char lines.
  4. Pile onto a plate and spoon the Tatashe over the top. Add a squeeze of lemon if you like. Serve straight away, while the cheese is soft.

Tip

Halloumi firms up as it cools, so cook it just before you sit down.
